We believe that if somebody is hungry don´t give him/her a fish. Give them a fishing rod and show them how to catch fish. We want Weligama people to stand up and stand tall. That’s why we believe that helping local children to receive education is the only way to a brighter future for the country. The main idea of the founder of the organization, is to create a community and bring every member to help himself in order to help others, through employment aids, optimisation of each individual's skills and proper access to education.

Current fundraising campaign

School Supply

2 times a year, Savi Jaya organizes a school supply donation event. Thanks to fundraising and the help of local partners each event supplies more than 100 children from underprivileged families. The donation packages included school books, notebooks, pencils, school bags, and refillable water bottles.

Help in times of crisis - Food donations:

Unfortunately, as the economical crisis in Sri Lanka is getting worse and worse, even the most basic goods such as rice and lentils get unaffordable for many people in Weligama area. While in January 2022 the cost for one kilo of rice was around 100 LKR it has now risen to around 300 LKR. Due to limited availability of this imported product in Sri Lanka, one can already see the shortage of this essential nutrition in many areas. Therefore Savi Jaya helped to provide the poorest families with food packages in recent weeks. We were already able to raise enough support for 200 people, but as the situation does not seem to improve any time soon, this will be an ongoing challenge for us in the upcoming months.

More than ever, the Sri Lankan people need your help.

That's why our foundation is calling for donations: All donations will be used to buy food, fuel, school supplies (exercise books, pencil cases, school bags, shoes and uniforms), for the Sri Lankan people.
